Judges Regulations
The Kennel Club of Pakistan maintains a structured education and approval system to ensure that all judges meet the highest standards of competence, integrity, and professionalism.
Categories of Judges
KCP recognizes the following categories of judges:
- Breed Judge — a judge approved to evaluate one or more specific breeds.
- Group Judge — a judge approved to evaluate all breeds within one or more FCI Groups.
- All-Breed Judge — a judge approved to evaluate all breeds recognised by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI).
Judge Responsibilities
All judges are expected to:
- Judge strictly according to the applicable breed standard.
- Maintain impartiality and independence.
- Promote the welfare of dogs.
- Conduct themselves professionally at all times.
- Uphold the reputation of KCP and the sport of purebred dogs.
Advancement
Additional Breeds
Breed Judges wishing to judge additional breeds must complete the required education, demonstrate adequate breed knowledge, and pass any examinations required by KCP.
Group Judge Status
To qualify as a Group Judge, a judge must have substantial experience as a Breed Judge, demonstrate competence in multiple breeds within the group, and complete the education and assessment process established by KCP.
All-Breed Judge Status
All-Breed Judge status is reserved for highly experienced judges who have demonstrated competence across multiple breed groups and have fulfilled the requirements established by KCP and the FCI.
Continuing Education
Judges are expected to maintain their knowledge through seminars, workshops, breed education programmes, and continuing participation in canine activities.
Disciplinary Matters
Any judge found guilty of misconduct, unethical behavior, conflict of interest, or violations of KCP Rules and Regulations may be subject to disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the KCP Judges List.
FCI Recognition
KCP judges are approved in accordance with KCP policies and applicable FCI Regulations. Where applicable, FCI requirements shall govern eligibility for international judging appointments and advancement.
