Dog welfare is at the heart of everything the Kennel Club of Pakistan stands for. Every dog, whatever its breed or purpose, is owed a basic standard of care and respect.
These are not privileges for some dogs — they are the duty of every owner.

Every dog deserves respect
A dog is a sentient companion, not a possession to be used and discarded. Treat every dog with kindness and patience.
Proper shelter
Dogs need protection from heat, cold and rain, and a clean, comfortable place of their own to rest.
Fresh water, always
Clean drinking water must be available at all times — especially in Pakistan's hot climate.
Veterinary care is essential
Prevent and treat illness, keep vaccinations current, and never let a dog suffer for want of care.
Daily exercise
Dogs need to move, explore and play every day for their physical and mental health.
Never abandon a dog
Abandonment causes immense suffering. If you can no longer keep a dog, find it a responsible new home or seek help.
Never train with cruelty
Training should be built on kindness and reward. Fear and pain damage a dog and destroy the trust between dog and owner.
Responsible ownership benefits everyone
Well-cared-for dogs are safer, healthier and happier — and they strengthen the bond between people and animals across society.
“Good dog welfare begins with responsible ownership. Every owner has a duty to provide a safe, healthy and loving home for their dog.”
